
What are grepes and galettes ?
Grepes and galettes are different from ordinary pancakes not only for different kind of dough but also for the way they are prepared. Pancakes are pan-fried from both sides, using some kind of fat – butter, oil, etc. But grepes and galettes are baked on the steal plate at 200 to 250 degree only from one side, without any kind of fat. The filling is put on the cake during while baking it, where it becomes hot quite quickly thanks to high degrees.
